ABOUT THE NORM KENT SHOW

show guests 1.jpg

The Norm Kent show has returned to the airwaves. The popular broadcaster was previously the highest rated morning talk show host on WFTL-AM. Norm brings his energy and irreverence to the afternoon drive, with live interviews and independent takes of controversial headlines. Add that to a searing and cutting edge analysis of the politics of the day, and you can see why "The Norm Kent Show" has been referred to as a 'beeper for your conscience.'

ABOUT NORM KENT

Norm-Desk.jpg

Kent is a nationally respected criminal defense attorney, who is currently the publisher of SFGN- the 'South Florida Gay News', the 'MIRROR Magazine', and 'The Guide,' a handbook illuminating and showcasing LGBTQ businesses in South Florida.

A graduate of the Hofstra University School of Law in New York, Norm is celebrating his 45th year as an attorney in 2020. He first established himself in South Florida as an FAU university professor and children's rights advocate, successfully filing class action law suits that shut down illegally overcrowded juvenile detention centers in Broward County in the late 1970's.

Norm's law practice has become renowned for its vigorous defense of the constitutional and first amendment rights of his clients, from fundamentalist ministers to adult dancers and nightclubs. His clientele has included notable radio and television personalities, including the late and great Neil Rogers.

A past president of the National Organization to Reform Marijuana Laws (NORML), Norm has been a legal pioneer for cannabis advocates across the country, winning the nation's first acquittals ever based on the defense of 'medical necessity,' back in 1988.

Named by the Sun Sentinel as one of Broward County’s ‘Most Influential Personalities’ in 2002, Norm formerly served as the Executive Director of AIDS Project Florida, and has received community service awards from Equality Florida, the Pride Center, the ACLU and the Harvey Milk Foundation, amongst others.
